The SEO question

What a typical SEO retainer buys, and what your plan already includes

A typical local SEO agency: $1,500 a month

  • 6 to 12 month contracts before you see results
  • Content written by junior staff, billed at senior rates
  • A second invoice on top of what your website already costs
  • Jargon-heavy reports you need a translator for
  • AI search? Most agencies have not caught up yet

Main Street: $150 a month, website included

  • Fresh articles about your business, written and published for you
  • Complete on-page and technical SEO, running continuously
  • Built to be found by ChatGPT and Google AI, not just Google
  • Plain-English answers about what your site is doing
  • All of it included in the price of the website
Good to know

Pricing questions, answered straight

So what does it actually cost?

Main Street is $150 a month billed yearly, or $180 month to month. Pro is $250 billed yearly, or $300 month to month. Booth is $20 a month, or $200 a year. Every price already includes design, hosting, your domain, SSL, and updates. Paying for the year up front saves you two months. No setup fee, no hourly rate, no surprise invoice.

Is there a contract or lock-in?

Monthly plans cancel any time, and you are only billed for the month you are in. The optional annual plan is prepaid, so it runs to the end of the year you paid for. Either way there is no long-term contract and your domain stays yours. And we will not quietly trap you: if an annual plan renews and you did not mean to continue, just tell us and we refund the unused months.

Can I change how my site looks later?

Anytime, and there is no rebuild fee. We are adding new features all the time, and if you want a fresh look we will restyle your whole site for you. An agency would charge you three to five thousand dollars to rebuild. With us it is simply part of your subscription.

What counts as an update? Is there a limit?

Hours, prices, photos, new services, team changes, seasonal pages. Normal business updates are included in every plan. Booth includes two a month; Main Street and Pro are unlimited within reason. If you reinvent the whole site every Tuesday we will talk, but nobody has yet.

Who owns the website?

Your domain and your content belong to you, full stop. The platform that hosts and updates it is ours, which is what your subscription pays for.

Can you sell products on the site?

We link out to wherever you already sell, like Square, Etsy, DoorDash, or Amazon, and we can embed booking and ordering tools. Full on-site shopping carts are on our roadmap.

Do I still need to hire an SEO agency?

For most local businesses, no. The labor a typical $1,500-a-month retainer covers, meaning content writing, on-page optimization, technical fixes, and AI-search readiness, is built into the platform and runs continuously. Main Street and Pro include it in the plan price. If you are in a brutally competitive market and want dedicated link building on top, we will tell you honestly and help you scope it.

Not sure which fits?

Tell us about your business and we will recommend a plan with a real number attached.
